CONSERVATION TREE/SHRUB INFORMATION
For Natrona County & City of Casper Residents

The 2011 Tree Season is OVER for 2010-2011! The Natrona County Conservation District continues to support the planting of effective living windbreaks and erosion control barriers in rural areas and on small acreages through our annual Seedling Tree Program.

The 2011 Tree Program was a great success thanks to all of you who ordered trees! There were 3,910 trees sold, and the most popular selections were Colorado Blue Spruce, Black Hills Spruce, Poplar, Bur Oak, Thornless Honeylocust, Siberian Elm, Cottonwood and Green Ash.

Tree orders begin again in November 2011 for Spring of 2012. So, if the trees you wanted were sold out,  or you missed the ordering period, be sure to call or email to get on the mailing list for the 2012 tree order form:  CONTACT US HERE

No warranty or guarantee, expressed or implied, is made by the Natrona County Conservation District for any plant materials. We do not receive any guarantee from our wholesale nurseries for conservation grade bare root or potted plant materials, and therefore, we cannot offer any guarantees to the public. Plant materials that we have ordered in the past have been good acceptable stock.

Planting polymer (Hydrosource) is also Available from NCCD for $5.00 for a 12 ounce bag (enough to fill four 5-gallon buckets – and plant a lot of trees!). This polymer is also great for houseplants.

There is an abundance of information on the internet about each of the available plants and trees, and I have information in my office to assist in tree selection. Some good resources are: http://www.uwyo.edu/ces/ and http://www.colostate.edu/. The trees that are underlined on the order form are recommended for this area by Wyoming State Forestry. If you have questions, please feel free to call or stop by the office.

Please call before ordering to ensure availability of specific trees, (307) 234-4022.
