Annual Seedling Tree Sales

NCCD supports the planting of effective windbreaks, erosion control barriers and snow fences in rural areas and on small acreages through the annual Conservation Tree and Shrub Program. Natrona County residents can order trees through NCCD at a nominal cost through the winter, with delivery in early May just in time for spring planting. Natrona County residents interested in conservation gardening can also purchase rain barrels and composters through NCCD.  Click HERE for more information on our Seedling Tree & Shrub Sales.

Rural Living Workshops

NCCD assisted with the 2009-2010 and the 2010-2011 Rural Living Workshops, in cooperation with UW Ag Extension, NC Weed & Pest, Wyoming Forest Service, and Historic Trails RC&D.  The workshops were attended by more than 250 Natrona County residents. These free work shops, sponsored by the Rural Living Team and paid for with a grant through the University of Wyoming, featured topics such as weed identification and control, irrigation management, Pine Bark beetle recognition and control, subdivision issues, wind breaks, and solar energy.

In Spring of 2012, there will be no Rural Living Workshops.  Watch for future information!

Annual Appreciation Breakfast

Annually, the NCCD District Board of Supervisors hosts their annual Appreciation Breakfast for city, county, state and federal elected officials, and representatives from cooperating agencies. The breakfast features a review of current and future NCCD programs, yearly accomplishments, and an overview of upcoming projects targeting issues of concern to rural landowners and small acreage residents.
